Therapy for children and teens
Children and teens experience and express their emotions in different ways as they grow, navigate relationships, and make sense of the world around them.
You may be noticing…
- Big feelings that are hard for your child to manage
- Changes in behavior
- Challenges at school or at home
- A child or teen coping with a loss or a major change
How we’ll work together
Sometimes, big feelings, changes in behavior, or challenges at school and home can be signs that a child is having a difficult time. Amy strives to create a warm, supportive space where young people can feel comfortable expressing themselves, exploring their feelings, and developing healthy coping skills.
Through age-appropriate and sometimes play-based approaches, we can help children and teens build emotional awareness to strengthen their confidence and navigate life’s ups and downs. When appropriate, Amy also partners with parents and caregivers to support their understanding of their child’s needs and reinforce skills beyond the therapy space.
Amy spent nearly a decade in pediatric care and bereavement counseling at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health and By the Bay Health.
